Burrows Signs for Dragons for 2024/25 Season
Exeter Chiefs hooker Oli Burrows has agreed a move to Dragons for the 2024/25 season.
The Neath boy will join the Welsh region in the United Rugby Championship having been a part of the Chiefs set-up since the summer of 2020.
The young front rower arrived in Devon to develop his rugby career with Chiefs while simultaneously studying a business degree at the University of Exeter.
Introduced to the game at the tender age of five, Burrows’ first club colours were those of his hometown club, Neath Athletic RFC. An education and playing opportunities with Millfield School led to time spent in the Ospreys Academy and ultimately resulted in the dynamic hooker catching the eye of Chiefs.
Burrows has valued his time in Devon but is also looking forward to being back on Welsh soil as he looks ahead to his next challenge.
“I’ve had a great time being an Exeter Chief and I feel like I’ve made some great friends during my time at Sandy Park. I’ve learned a lot from the players around me as well as the coaches. I’d like to thank everyone at the club for their support and help.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge of testing myself in a URC environment with Dragons but also, the chance to be closer to home is going to be really nice for me after nearly four years in Devon.”
Burrows returns to Wales having represented them at age-grade level – both U18s and U20s – so will look to further develop his game under Welsh eyes.
The club would like to thank Oli for his time as an Exeter Chief and wish him well for the future.
