Chiefs duo help Spain to comfortable win

Exeter Chiefs Women's duo Patricia Garcia and Laura Delgado both featured for Spain as they swept aside the challenge of the Netherlands 69-0 in their opening Rugby Europe Championship encounter in Amsterdam.

In a one-sided affair from start to finish, José Antonio Barrio's side proved far too strong for the Dutch, eventually running in 11 tries on the day.

Garcia - who started the game at centre - was at the heart of a lot of their attacking playing, scoring a try, as well as kicking three conversions in the testing conversions.

Club-mate Delgado was used as a second half replacement, but by then the game was already secured for Las Leonas, whose other tries came from Clara Piquero (2), Beth Segarra, Anna Puig (2), Zahia Perez, Julia Castro, Monica Castelo and Olivia Fresneda.

Next up for them is a home encounter against Russia this Saturday.
