Chiefs to Take on Touring Side Australian Stockman

Exeter Chiefs will host Australian touring side Stockman Rugby for an under the lights friendly at Sandy Park this October.

The touring side will take on an Exeter Chiefs squad on Wednesday, October 23 [KO 19:30] in the week leading up to the sixth round of the Gallagher Premiership.

“We’re delighted to be welcoming Stockman Rugby to Sand Park as part of their 2024 tour,” Chiefs Director of Rugby Rob Baxter said.

“The game is another fantastic opportunity for us to test the depth of our playing squad and try to ensure everyone gets prime game-time throughout the season as well as to see how our younger players are developing.

“Stockman promote the values of integrity and a group of mates playing towards a goal, which is something I would like to think our squad also stands for, so we look forward to the meeting between our two sides.”

The touring side, which was established in 2013, describe their programme as one which “provides development opportunities for aspiring grass-roots players from Australia’s rural and regional areas, while tackling men’s health related subjects such as suicide, depression and substance abuse”.

The side have previously toured New Zealand, Ireland, Argentina and Western Australia before heading to English shores this month.
