Chiefs trio in England squad

Exeter Chiefs trio Jonny Hill, Sam Simmonds and Henry Slade have all been named in the England squad who have gathered to prepare for this Saturday’s Autumn Nations Series clash with South Africa at Twickenham.

All three players featured for Eddie Jones’ side in last Saturday’s 32-15 victory over Australia. Hill and Slade both started the game, whilst Simmonds was used as a second half replacement.

They form part of a 34-player squad that have gathered at England’s training base at Pennyhill Park in Bagshot.

Saracens duo Owen Farrell (ankle) and Jamie George (knee) have withdrawn from the squad with injuries and Gloucester Rugby’s Harry Elrington and Jack Singleton have been called up. Joe Marler will join with the squad on Friday after completing his 10-day isolation period following his positive COVID test result.

England take on world champions South Africa on Saturday 20 November (3.15pm KO). The match is live on Amazon Prime Sport and TalkSPORT.
