Exeter Chiefs Director of Rob Baxter has confirmed that back Facundo Cordero has left the club with immediate effect.

The Argentinian international has signed for United Rugby Championship side Glasgow Warriors until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Chiefs in July 2020 from Los Ceibos, made 33 appearances for the Devon club in all competitions, scoring eight tries in the process. His final outing was in last week’s friendly against the Royal Navy at Sandy Park.

Explaining the news, Baxter said: “Similar to Santiago Grondona recently, an opportunity has arisen for Facundo to move to another club with immediate effect. Again, he was aware that we weren’t going to offer him a contract for next season, so we felt it right that we give him every opportunity to try and secure himself something for the future.

“He does, however, go with our best wishes for the future and I thank him for his contribution whilst here at the club.”
