Disciplinary: Linde van der Velden, Exeter Chiefs Women

Exeter Chiefs Women's Linde van der Velden has been suspended for two weeks following an independent Disciplinary Hearing arising from a tackle in the recent Gloucester-Hartpury game on March 2, 2024.

The case of Linde van der Velden, Exeter Chiefs, was heard by independent disciplinary panel chaired by Daniel Gore sitting with Beccy Essex and Tony Wheat.

Van der Velden was cited for dangerous tackling, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13, during a game against Gloucester-Hartpury on 2 March 2024.

The player admitted the charge and received a three-match ban which will be reduced to two if she makes an application to World Rugby to undertake the Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP).

She will miss the following games:

13.01 v Loughborough Lightning

20.01 v Colombia

03.02 v Spain (subject to completion of CIP)
