Following confirmation of the European Champions Cup fixtures for the 2017/18 season, the Exeter Chiefs European Cycle Challenge for 2017 will be a trip to Montpellier in Southern France.

This year's event will be the third such challenge the club have undertaken and the furthest travelled so far, so cyclists are going to complete it in stages over six days during the week of the October 15.

As normal, the cyclists will arrive in Montpellier on Saturday, October 22 to join the rest of the Travelling Tribe ready for the game the following day, before then heading back to England on Monday, October 23.

The first two rides have already raised over £32,000 for the charities of the Exeter Foundation, the club's official charity, and the detailed planning for the ride has already commenced.

Those taking part will stay in small hotels on the way down and will again be supported by an expert 'back up' team who will be providing hot drinks, shelter, refreshment and moral support along the way.

To help with the training, Exeter Chiefs Cycling will be organising sociable training rides (via a coffee shop) on the Sundays leading up to the ride leaving from Darts Farm at 9.15am.

Exeter Chiefs Cycling Club have had a number of people expressing an interest in joining the ride, so to help with planning ahead they are asking riders to register their interest and pay £15 per head to join Exeter Chiefs Cycling.

Anyone interested in joining the ride this year or requiring further information should please email: Leanne Waters at leanne.waters@5dgroup.co.uk or telephone 01752 710575.
