Exeter Rugby Club can confirm that, by mutual consent, Ali Hepher will be leaving his role with the club.

After a long and distinguished tenure, Ali has decided to take a break from the sport to spend more time with his family and step back from the demands of the professional game.

Ali joined Exeter Chiefs in 2009 and has since played an instrumental role in the club’s transformation into one of the leading sides in English and European rugby.

As Head Coach, he has been central to the team’s tactical evolution and on-field success, including Premiership titles and an historic European trophy. His leadership, professionalism, and rugby intellect have left a legacy that will resonate within the club for years to come.

Chairman and Chief Executive Tony Rowe CBE said, "Ali has contributed immensely to Exeter Rugby Club over a long period of sustained success. His influence on our coaching environment and playing culture has been considerable and I would like to wish him all the best for the future"

Director of Rugby Rob Baxter added, "Working alongside Ali for so many seasons has been a genuine privilege. His insight, energy, and passion for the game have helped drive this club forward in countless ways and I know everyone here will join me in thanking him for all he’s done."
