Exeter Chiefs Women’s scrum-half Flo Robinson has been called up to the Red Roses training squad at the start of the biggest year in England’s history in women’s rugby with a home World Cup beckoning.

She will join winger Claudia MacDonald who has recently returned from a 10-month rehabilitation spell following a serious neck injury, and flanker Maddie Feaunati. They are part of a 38-player three-day training camp that will assemble on Monday as the Red Roses prepare for the upcoming Guinness Women’s Six Nations and Rugby World Cup.

The 23-year-old was called up to the training squad in 2021 but did not get chance to a earn her first cap. With consistent performances for Chiefs this season, she is hoping this will be her year.

Robinson said: “I am excited for the opportunity to go into camp. I’ve been really enjoying my rugby back in Exeter and I’m glad it’s showing in the pitch.”

Having returned to Exeter Chiefs after a year with Harlequins, Robinson has settled back into life at Sandy Park and has started every single PWR game this season.

She has a played a total of 73 games for Chiefs across her two spells with the club and has scored 10 tries. Robinson is also the women’s team’s current vice-captain.

Head coach Susie Appleby said: “It was why Flo came back to us because she was not able to play enough at Quins to gain the selectors’ attention. She has come back here, played really well and deservedly gets a run around with England next week, which is fantastic.”
