Exeter Chiefs full-back Josh Hodge has been handed a match ban following a red card in the closing stages of last weekend's game against Northampton Saints.
Hodge was disciplined in the 72nd minute of the Gallagher PREM round one fixture at cinch stadium at Franklin's Gardens.
The disciplinary case was heard this week by Gareth Rees KC, sitting as an independent Sole Judicial Officer.
Hodge was cited for a dangerous tackle, contrary to World Rugby Law 9.13 and as a result has received a three-match ban, which will be reduced to two if he successfully completes the World Rugby Coaching Intervention Programme (CIP).
His matches missed will be Newcastle Red Bulls [Oct 4], Bristol Bears [Oct 11] and Harlequins [Oct 19, subject to completion of CIP].
