Leading points scorer Cantorna extends time at Sandy Park

USA Eagles centre Gabby Cantorna has a signed a new contract to keep her at Sandy Park.

One of the originals who joined Exeter Chiefs Women when the team was set up in 2020, Cantorna will head into a sixth season with the club having put pen to paper this month.

About to head off into Eagles camp before the start of the 2025 Pacific Four Series, Cantorna has made 70 appearances for Exeter Chiefs Women, scoring five tries and kicking 310 points, making her the leading points scorer.

The 29-year-old said: “I am proud to re-sign with the Exeter Chiefs. This club is more than a team…it’s home. The support from the fans, the love I have for the community, and the bonds in this group mean everything to me. I’m excited to be staying put, and I can’t wait for what’s next.”

Originally coached by her father coached at high school team, Cantorna played for USA Under20s for three consecutive years from 2013 and was honoured as a Collegiate All-American for all four years of college at Penn State where she was also a four-time National Champion.

She was selected for the Women's Eagles 15s Autumn Internationals in November of 2018, earning her first cap against New Zealand.

Having joined Chiefs in 2020, she was shortlisted for the Premier 15s team of the season.

Interim head coach Steve Salvin said: “Gabby is one of our most experienced players and her points tally speaks for itself. She is one of founding players and it’s important to have that experience around as we develop our team this season. Gabby is also an excellent player who knows the game through and through, so will continue to be an invaluable asset.”
