Low pleased with Quins win

It may not have been the prettiest of wins, but prop Moray Low doesn’t care how Exeter Chiefs go about their winning ways, as long as it continues to bring in the points.
Rob Baxter’s side moved back to the summit of the Aviva Premiership on Saturday when they saw off visiting Harlequins 31-17 at Sandy Park.
Although not at their clinical best, the defending champions still had too much in the tank for the Londoners, who despite a promising first half showing, were undone after the break as the Chiefs recorded their sixth win in eight league starts.
Scottish international Low was part and parcel of the home efforts, packing down in the front-row for his first Premiership start of the season.
Post-match, the 32-year-old forward praised the work of the Chiefs, saying: “It wasn’t the prettiest of wins, but it’s five points at the end of the day and we’ll take that. We’ve blown out a few cobwebs after few of the guys had the last couple of weeks off - and now we’ll push onto next week up at Saracens.”
In what should be another testing assignment for the Chiefs, Low says it’s imperative he and his team-mates continue their rich vein of form against one of their top-four rivals this weekend.
“It’s a good win to take into the Saracens game,” he added. “We know going up there will be tough, it always is, but we’ll knuckle down again this week, get the reviews done, and then look to put right one or two things that weren’t so great today.”
With competition for places rife across the Chiefs squad, every Exeter player knows they must make the most of any chance they are given to impress.
“If you look around, we’ve got guys in every position challenging hard,” said the Scotsman. “Right now we’re competing on all fronts and everyone is putting their hands up, just because we all want that shot of playing in the first team.
“Getting results like we did at the weekend, it all helps in the long run. As I said, it was physical and we know parts of our defence weren’t up to task in the first half. However, we addressed that and they didn’t score in the second half. I think that shows that if we stick to the game plan and everybody does what is asked of then, then more often than not we get the result.”
