Our Community Camps are back

With the return of schools and regulations around coaching within the Community game being slightly eased, we are delighted to announce our Community Team will be returning from furlough part time in October. Our Community team will be reaching out to Primary Schools offering P.E curriculum delivery and PPA cover. Also holding workshops for a cross curriculum-based digital application called Premiership Champions. If you’re part of a part primary school interested in having the Community Chiefs deliver high quality P.E sessions or want to learn more about our Premiership Champions workshops, please contact the address at the bottom.
We are also holding two Train Like A Chief October half term camps, with one being at Topsham RFC and the other one being at Truro RFC. These camps will follow the latest government and RFU regulation to ensure they are COVID-19 secure. Our Super Saturday/ Sunday match day experiences will also run at some stage this season but to begin with due to fan restrictions at stadiums we will not be offering our normal match day experience. However we will be offering clubs the opportunity to have the Community Chiefs attend your local club on an Exeter Chiefs match day, where the Community Coaches will run a high quality coaching session prior to the Exeter Chiefs match. Although the majority of Community staff have been furloughed our award winning national Hitz programme hasn’t stopped running. Throughout the pandemic the programme ran virtually online with students checking in daily via zoom calls and being set online tasks. It was fantastic to see the resilience and discipline of all students to keep going with all students managing to successfully complete the programme. Since September and with schools reopening our Hitz programme was able to return to Topsham RFC, the base of Hitz, where Officer Gareth and SCL tutor Lewis have done an amazing job at recruiting over 25 students for the 20/21 academic year.
