Exeter Chiefs full-back Chloe Rollie has today been named in Bryan Easson’s Scotland Women’s squad ahead of their Rugby World Cup Final qualification tournament in Dubai.

Rollie’s heroics with a late try against Ireland back in September secured the Scots a place in the final qualification tournament at the end of February – and now her side will take on the winner of the match between Kazakhstan and Colombia for the right to the final spot at the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand.

Rachel Malcolm will continue to lead the side, which includes three uncapped players d in the 30-player squad. Meyl Smith and Eva Donaldson of Edinburgh University, along with former England international Caity Mattinson, are the new faces in camp.

Easson, himself a former Exeter Chiefs player, is excited to see what his squad can produce on the field, after naming a squad packed with a mix of youth and experience.

““We’ve have been encouraged by the performances the squad have produced over the past few months, so we haven’t made too many changes to our preparations.”

The Scottish coach also highlighted the importance of being able to select a large squad in allowing him and his coaching staff to continue the work and development that begun earlier this season.

“The ability to select a 30-player squad has been a real positive for us, as we can keep working with the group that featured in the qualifiers in Parma, while also introducing some new players to the squad.”

The qualification tournament will also be live streamed across World Rugby and RWC 2021 digital and social platforms, with Scotland’s match on Friday, February 25th kicking off at 3pm GMT.
