Nearly 300 guests enjoyed Sandy Park's famous hospitality at this year's Season Kick-off Dinner.

The guests, which included several Exeter Chiefs players and members of the coaching staff, enjoyed a four-course Devon-themed menu, created and prepared by Sandy Park's catering team. This included a wealth of locally sourced ingredients such as Brixham Cod, Dart's Farm Beetroot and Quicke's Cheddar cheese, with Sharpham's wine also available to complement the food.

Former Exeter Chiefs player Kai Horstmann hosted the evening and was joined on stage for a Q&A with Exeter Chiefs coaches Ricky Pellow, Julian Salvi and Haydn Thomas. Entertainment was also provided by guest speaker Phil Vickery, who regaled the room with tales of his career in professional rugby and life after retirement, as well as music from local band One Foot in the Groove.

The Season Kick-off Dinner was also an opportunity to celebrate the work of the Exeter Chiefs Foundation in 2018/19. Representatives of the 20 designated charities from the 2018/19 season were invited to the dinner to be presented with £64,000 between them.

The Foundation is now in its eighth year as a charity and since inception has raised just shy of £1.5m. Over 90 charities and organisations have been directly funded by the Exeter Chiefs Foundation to date.
