Exeter Chiefs are set for another record-breaking campaign before a ball has even been kicked with confirmation that the club have already surpassed last season’s total of season tickets sold.

Club chairman and chief executive, Tony Rowe OBE, says it's testament to the 'fantastic backing' the club receive from it's loyal supporters that season ticket sales have risen again ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, which kicks-off tomorrow with the visit of Bath to Sandy Park in the Premiership Rugby Cup (3pm).

Ahead of what will be the Devon club's tenth year in the Gallagher Premiership, the Chiefs have recorded a 5.3% increase in season ticket sales compared to this time last year.

Last season the Chiefs initially sold 5,150 season tickets, a figure which rose to 5,407 when the half season ticket option was added at the start of this year.

However, that figure has now risen to 5,421 for the new season, much to the delight of Mr Rowe.

I continue to be amazed by the support of our fans. The amount of season tickets already sold – including many first time holders – is testament to the fantastic backing our fans continue to give the club,” said Mr Rowe.

"Each year our average home attendance continues to rise - last year it was over 12,000 - and again there is a real feel-good factor around the club as we head into the new campaign.

"With sell-outs at Sandy Park becoming more and more commonplace at Sandy Park, I’m sure Chiefs' fans will appreciate that holding on to their season ticket, or for those purchasing a new one, this is the only way of guaranteeing their spot for all of our home games."

Whilst a great number of existing season ticket holders took up the option to renew their spots at an early stage, the club has also seen an increase in many first-time holders taking up the option of watching Rob Baxter's side in action in the Premiership, Heineken Champions Cup and Premiership Rugby Cup.
