South Africa extended their winning run against Scotland to six matches as they edged out their hosts 26-20 at BT Murrayfield.

A week after making his Test debut in the win against Fiji, Exeter Chiefs forward Sam Skinner felt the full force of the Springboks, who were indebted to an 18-point haul from Handre Pollard.

The talented fly-half grabbed a try, two conversions and three penalties with Jesse Kriel claiming their other try.

Centre Peter Horne and flanker Hamish Watson countered with tries for Scotland, both of which were converted by Greig Laidlaw, who also added two penalties.

However, the home side could not make the most of a second half yellow card for South African full-back Willie Le Roux and it was visitors who held on despite late pressure from the Scots.
