West Country Derby and Newcastle Fixtures Confirmed

Exeter Chiefs can now confirm dates and kick-off times for their Round 13 fixture against Newcastle Falcons and Round 15 against Bath Rugby.

The Geordie side will be welcomed to Sandy Park on Saturday, March 23 KO 3pm while the West Country rivals make their visit to Devon on Saturday, April 20 KO 5:30pm.

The longest journey to be made in the Gallagher Premiership, Newcastle Falcons have proved worthy adversaries of the Chiefs since Exeter’s promotion to the topflight in 2010.

And the weighty nature of the storied West Country derby is not lost on anyone in a Chiefs shirt or the Blue, White and Black of Bath Ruby.

Clashes with Falcons have produced a varied set of results over the years. A 12 try, record victory thrilled in May 2021 ended in a staggering 74-3 scoreline in Chiefs’ favour. Then, on a cold February afternoon in 2022, a single point separated the two sides with Chiefs scraping by their rivals 14-15 up at Kingston Park.

Home outings against Bath have proved fruitful in recent years. A 20-15 win on Christmas Eve in 2022 to set up a very merry festive period for Chiefs fans. And who could forget the April 2022 clash in which Chiefs scored 35 unanswered points to overcome their rivals 42-22 to clinch a top four spot.

And so, there is sure to be plenty of barnstorming action to take in from both games in Exeter.
