With nine rounds of Gallagher Premiership Rugby in the bank, attention now turns back to the Premiership Rugby Cup where one side will take a step closer to the first XVs silverware of the season this weekend.

On Sunday, Exeter Chiefs host Harlequins as the Pool 3 and Pool 2 winners respectively do battle, with a final against either Sale Sharks or Saracens in March up for grabs.

Both sides triumphed in three of their four group matches to reach the semi-finals, so fans are in store for a titanic battle at Sandy Park.

Neither Rob Baxter’s men nor Paul Gustard’s squad made it through to the semi-finals of the competition during its maiden edition last season so will be chomping at the bit to make a first final this time round.

Maintaining order in what could be a highly charged tussle will be Anthony Woodthorpe.

Assisting him will Adam Leal and Greg Macdonald while Keith Lewis will act as TMO.
