Greg Fisilau
One of three signings Rob Baxter made following the news that Wasps had slipped into administration, young back-row Greg Fisilau joined Chiefs in November 2022.
Like any young player, Fisilau has dreams of going all the way in the sport, but says his biggest inspiration is putting his family in a better place. His family originate from Tonga, with his dad former Plymouth Albion centre and Tongan international, Keni Fisilau.
Fisilau says he owes everything to his father, who started training him as soon as he was able to crawl. Pushing him to train to the best of his ability, Fisilau is adamant he wouldn’t be where he is now without the input of Keni.
Growing up in Plymouth, his first club was Devonport Services, starting there at U8s as his dad only wanted him to start playing when it got to contact stages. He didn’t want his son playing touch or tag rugby as he didn’t want him to develop bad habits.
A product of the Wasps academy, Fisilau had also played in three Premiership Cup games for the former Premiership side while also testing the waters in the National Leagues at Birmingham Moseley and Ampthill in the RFU Championship.
Fisilau also has representative honours with 14 England U20s caps after making his debut in the 2022 U20 Six Nations.
