Liv McGoverne

A new recruit at the Exeter Chiefs at the start of the 2022/23 season, the gifted New Zealander quickly settled into her new surroundings on the other side of the world.
Equally adept playing at fly-half or centre, McGoverne made her debut for the Devon club in their Allianz Cup encounter away to DMP Sharks in September 2022 - and was been a mainstay of Susie Appleby's first-team plans for the rest of the season. A proven goalkicker with an eye for a try, the Christchurch-born back - who arrived from Matatū - first started playing rugby at high school at the age of 13. Since then, she has developed her game year on year and believes her move to the Northern Hemisphere has helped add to her skill-set, particularly tackling some of the best names in the game in the Allianz Premier 15s.
McGoverne returned to Matatū for the 2023/24 season but now she is back for more Chiefs time! She surpassed the 300-point mark with a try and three conversions against Gloucester-Hartpury in the PWR Cup in September 2025.
